Come to Loulé at the beginning of the summer and appreciate the
typical sounds and flavours of the Mediterranean countries.
For five days, the Med Festival will be bringing life and
excitement to the streets of Loulé’s historic centre, benefiting
from the presence in the city of many well-known names from the
universe of “world music”, originating from Morocco and various
Southern European countries, such as Spain, Italy, Greece and
Portugal. Advertising itself under the slogan of “music and much
more”, the Med Festival also presents other forms of art,
including handicraft exhibitions, dance performances and street theatre.
To complete this display of the typical culture of the various countries from the
Mediterranean basin, the festival ground situated in Loulé’s historic centre will be filled
with a number of different restaurants where you can sample some of the tastes of the
traditional cuisine of each of the countries taking part.
Throughout the five days of this festival, Loulé, with its narrow winding streets, where
it is still possible to sense the atmosphere of Moorish times, will be a real mixture of
cultures that nonetheless have many features in common.
