With the River Lima in the background, one of the country’s biggest
horse events is held in June in the North of Portugal.
The strong equestrian tradition in Ponte de Lima led to creation of
the Horse Fair – an event which attracts a large number of visitors
and exhibitors, including participation of national and foreign
thoroughbred breeders. In parallel there are various national
competitive events in the fields of Harness, Horseball and show
jumping, involving renowned riders.
In addition to the equestrian activities, the Horse Fair also
includes gastronomy and handicrafts displays and many entertainment activities.
