If you like speed competitions, travel to Portimão at the end of
September and watch the final stage in the Powerboat P1 world
championship.
This resistance test is held in the open sea, involving extremely
powerful single-hull vessels that slice through the waves at speeds
in excess of 160 kms/h, offering truly spectacular moments.
Powerboat P1 is Europe's fastest growing motor sport amongst
fans. These competitions enjoy major interest from the general
public and are broadcast to over 100 million households throughout
the world.
The Portimão event is the last in the six legs of this championship, that is staged
exclusively in the European mainland, and involves a glamorous party atmosphere in all
locations, reminiscent of the Grand Prix events of other motor sports.
